Full scale projects require a lot of planning, details, and time, but even with the setbacks and changes, The Creek Home has been one of my favorite re-designs to date. The stunning natural landscape coupled with the warm personality of this sweet family made it feel less like work, and a lot more like coming home.
One with
This home is set on a local creek, surrounded by
beautiful woods and glistening waters. It was
very important for me to capture the beauty of
nature inside the home, but in a way that felt
natural instead of forceful. The screened-in
porch as a beautiful answer to that desire; an
intimate relaxing space for the whole family to
gather in nature together.
At the time of this project my clients were
empty nesters with many children and
grandchildren. Every detail of the design
centered around family, heritage, and ‘being
together’. We both wanted every space (and the
whole home) to feel like it belonged to everyone
in the family - a welcoming, warm environment
for the family to grow and make memories in.
