All About Curated Gathering

Welcome back to the blog friends, it’s been a while. I’ve been working on something behind the scenes for a few months, and I’m excited to finally share it with you all. The mystery project is called Curated Entertaining at Home - an online course built to help you gather creatively and authentically in your home.

You could say that ‘intentional gathering’ is in my blood. I love to entertain, host, and gather with friends and family as often as I can. As an interior designer with 30+ years under her belt, I have seen time and time again what a curated atmosphere can do in a home. The same can be said of an intentional gathering. When we partner our creativity with what we have collected in our homes, the possibility for impact is endless. This belief echoes one of our encouraging phrases throughout the course: “There’s no right or wrong way to gather - let’s allow our creativity to lead the way!”

WHAT ATMOSPHERE ARE YOU DREAMING

OF CREATING IN YOUR HOME?

You know that feeling when you get when you go to your favorite restaurant? It’s evening, the lighting is low, and the room is filled with warm aromas from the kitchen. The table is set with unique florals and pretty glassware, and the low hum of conversation starts to flow from one table to the next. You spot your favorite piece of art on the wall as you’re sitting down, and think, “I wish I could make my home feel like this.”

Even though you’re in a restaurant, a very curated environment, the simple truth is that you can curate your home to evoke the same feeling that this restaurant does. You can draw on inspirations of warmth, color, sound - all the senses - to add layers of soul to your home, and your gatherings. In my new course, Curated Entertaining at Home, I’m showing you how to do just that.

In Curated Entertaining at Home, I welcome you into my favorite space for a day as I gather with friends to linger around the table for lunch, creating art and relishing in life’s simple joys. Throughout the course, I’ll share my authentic and intentional process for planning this intimate gathering, giving you plenty of tips, methods, and resources for stress-free creative hosting. We’ll immerse ourselves in all things entertaining, creating a rich atmospheric experience that will leave you feeling inspired and confident.

I’ll show you how to craft your gathering using my own home as a visual guide. You’ll learn how to curate a warm and inviting space with unique personal touches for your guests to discover. We will also go beyond the ‘pretty things’ with a planning strategy that keep you feel confident and prepared so you can enjoy all the joyful moments with your guests.

Whenever I see fellow designers or friends dreaming up creative gatherings, it always inspires me to take a look at my home and create again. I usually think and dream, “How can I create that warm feeling in my space?” It’s not as hard as it may seem, and I invite you to create your own special gathering wherever you have room, with whatever you have on hand.

My hope for you in this course is “inspired creativity”. Inspired creativity, to me, is a type of art that is best shared. As you make strides in curating your environment, those around you will take notice, and give themselves confidence to do the same. And as the inspiration ripples, it reaches farther than you could have ever imagined.
